Terry D. Burton

Terry D. Burton, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at a Topeka care facility. He was born November 27, 1932 in Kingman, Kansas, the son of William and E. Faye (Sanderson) Burton.
Terry graduated from McPherson High School in 1950 and attended Hutchinson Junior College and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Kansas. He was a Navy Veteran. Terry resided in Topeka since 1966. He was employed by Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Kansas as Vice-President of Marketing for 32 years before retiring.
Terry married Leah "Tudy" Larson on February 26, 1956 in Lindsborg, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2011. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Torey Hicks in October, 2014.
Survivors include their children, Tristan (Lynn) Burton of Spokane, Washington, Trey (Deb) Burton of Topeka, Traci Burton of Topeka and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Sunrise Optimist Club, 720 NW 50th St., Topeka, Kansas 66617 or to Great Lakes Caring Hospice 3715 SW 29th, Suite 100 Topeka, KS 66614.
