Terry C. Baird
Terry C. Baird, 71, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009.
He was born October 25, 1937 in Wadsworth, Ohio, the son of Forest A. and Norene (Carlton) Baird. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
Terry was employed by ABF Truckline, for 35 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene and Teamsters Local No. 696.
Terry married Nancy L. Stebbins on December 20, 1957, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Gina Baird of Topeka; a grandson, Ricky L. Harriman; a brother, Bill (Twyla) Baird of Tyler, TX; a sister, Beth (Larry) Shanabrook of Tiffin, OH. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky C. Baird.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, 730 SW Fairlawn, Topeka, KS 66606. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Baird will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SW Minnesota Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, or to the University of Kansas Medical Center, Pulmonary Unit, 3901 Rainbow Blvd, K.C., KS 66160.
