Thelma May Smith, 92, of Topeka, formerly of Eugene, Oregon, passed away March 27, 2012. She was born July 19, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Harry J. Bisbey and Nellie Bly Nordyke Bisbey. She attended high school in Venice, California and married James R. Smith on July 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Cathy E. Parish on July 3, 2008.
She is survived by two sons, Donald L. Smith of Topeka, and Thomas W. Garnella of Hemet, California; a daughter-in-law Maria Revilla of Topeka; a step-daughter Donita Lawver of Topeka; two grandchildren, Tiffany Smith of Topeka and Michael Francisco of Oregon; three great-grandchildren, Micah Francisco, James Revilla Smith and Sadie Hopstetter; one sister Lucille Pippins of Billings, Montana; a niece Linda Dawson of Laurel, Montana; and a cousin, Charlene Neson of Paso Robles, California.
As per Thelma's wishes, cremation has taken place. Her inurnment will be at a later date in Dayton, Missouri.
