Theodore "Ted" Hardy, 66, of Topeka, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at his residence.
He was born March 5, 1950, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Roy Hardy and Lucille Coleman. He was a 1968 graduate of Topeka High School and received an associate's degree from Cowley County Community College.
Ted was employed Eastlawn Community Center and later the Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka for 28 years, where he developed a lot of life-long relationships with many children and families. He was an avid KU and Dallas Cowboys fan; he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Ted loved to analyze and debate anything sports related. He was also known for his repertoire of one-liners and quick-witted comebacks and his love of music.
Survivors include son, Brent (Stacey) Dorsey; brothers, James Sidney Hardy and William E. Davis, Jr.; and grandchildren, Braylon and Reese Dorsey.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
