Theodore Redmond, 81, of Topeka, went Home to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2015. He was born September 3, 1934 in Colfax, Louisiana, the son of Promise and Ruby (McCall) Redmond.
Theodore resided in Topeka since 1954.
He was employed by Shawnee County Parks & Recreation. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Theodore married Catherine Borkins on April 3, 1976 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Nancy Redmond McCants, LaTrice Gooden, Arthur Redmond, Sylvia Hopper, Audrey Redmond, Promise Redmond, Theodore Redmond, Jr., Henry Davis, Ruby Cox, Doris Young, Janet Lingo, Juanita Hawkins, grandchildren, Robert Redmond, Quoantana Myrick, Keona Grey, Donnica McCants, Chasnema Gooden, Antonio Sirvira, Tamiko Tensley, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Theodore was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Felica Redmond and his siblings, Arnold Redmond, Henry Redmond, Truman Redmond, Katie Shepard and Betty Shepard.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
