Theresa L. Becerra, 66, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 10, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of John and Della (Bachar) Becerra, Jr.
Theresa began her career in Topeka in 1974 working for Hallmark Cards 39 years before retiring in 2013. She was an amazing person who made friends wherever she went and loved helping others. Theresa enjoyed vacationing in Colorado, loved playing BINGO, and had a great passion for dogs.
Survivors include her devoted companion of 47 years, Janet Belknap of Topeka, her mother, Della Becerra of Topeka, her siblings, Mike Becerra of Blue Springs, Missouri, Richard Becerra of Rolla, Missouri, Tony Becerra of Topeka and eight nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father, John Becerra, Jr. on December 28, 2005 and her niece, Lori Becerra on December 15, 2006.
Honoring Theresa's request, cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604-3720.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with arrangements.
