Theron V. Kent, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2007 at a Topeka care facility. He was born on May 14, 1922 in Topeka, the son of F. W. and Fern Bigger Kent. He graduated from Highland Park High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII where he obtained the rank of Staff Sargent and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star medal. Theron is registered in the World War II exhibit in the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics. He was employed by Fleming Foods for many years before retiring. He then was employed by Kent Fence Company. He married Mildred B. Taylor on June 14, 1941 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Linda Kroeger and husband, Gary, Sheila Remy and husband, Joe, Theron Thomas Kent, Mark Kent and wife, Patricia, Susan Carl and husband, Robert, and David Kent, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother, Merton Kent. He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Lee Kent. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Inurnment will follow. Following the services, the family and friends will gather at the Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion, 3800 S.E. Michigan Ave. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the NE Kansas Parkinson Association, P.O.
