Thomas E. Brown, 55, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Grandview, MO and Topeka, KS. Before ending his journey on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Thomas had recently accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was born October 3, 1958 in Topeka, the son of Tommie Brown and Joyce Henderson-Manning.
Thomas was employed by Seguin Services for 13 years, Grand Court 1 for 8 years, Life Care Center of GV for 5 years and KNI for 5 years. He also was employed by many health care agencies. Thomas enjoyed providing care for seniors and the disabled throughout his life.
Thomas married Patrica Smith-Brown. She survives. Other survivors include his special parents, George Glen and Doris Brown, and Emerson and Rosie Smith, his children, LeKeisha "Denise" Brown, Territa "Rita" Smith, Thomas Brown, Jr., Carl "Neil" (Tamale) Brown, Tamika Holloway, Johnny "Boo Man" (Katie) Smith, LaTrelle Holloway-Hicks, Tranique "Baby Girl" Smith, Kiya "Butt" Holloway, Tevin "T Man" Brown, Tomareon "T.C." Brown, James Benimon, JeTina Benimon and Ray Green and one brother, Billy Gene (Linda) Brown and one sister, Shanita Smith. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Andre "Dre" Baker and one brother, Ray Charles Brown.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Following the committal service, family repass will be held at Lakewood Shelter House, SE 21st & Lakewood Dr.
