Thomas E. Palenske, 68, Osage City, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015.
Tom was born November 27, 1946 in Manhattan, the son of Melvin "Buster" and Lillian Mae (Bodell) Palenske. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School.
He served 3 years in the U.S. Navy, including a tour in Vietnam.
He was employed by Goodyear for over 35 years, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 307, V.F.W. Post 2187 and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Tom married Jan Kidwell. They later divorced. He married Shirley Mick and they divorced. He married Lois "Fritz" Nichols. She died in 2004. Survivors include his children, Sheri (Douglas) Cafer, Topeka, Thomas B. (Jeryn) Palenske, Hurlburt Field, FL, and Jacob (Christopher Morris) Palenske, McKinney, TX; 5 grandchildren; brother, Fred Palenske, Auburn; and sister, Pat Gros, Topeka. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Palenske.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, July 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be in the Osage City Cemetery.
