Thomas "Tom" Johnson, 75, of Berryton, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at a Topeka hospital. He was born September 18, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Edward F. and Bernice I. (Schultz) Johnson, Jr.
Tom graduated from Topeka High School in 1964.
Tom married Cheryl J. Wiewald on February 1, 1969 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, Tom (Kathy) Johnson, Jr. of Topeka, Michelle Johnson of Topeka, three grandchildren, Andrew, Blaine and Evan, two great-grandchildren, Declan and Drew and his sister, Denise Appelhanz of Topeka.
Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Lincoln and Stephen Johnson.
A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Graveside inurnment services will follow at 1:00 p.m. As Tom was a huge KU fan, the family requests those attending wear crimson and blue.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
