Timothy A. Kious, 62, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was born October 13, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Arlan and Stella (Smith) Kious.
Tim attended Topeka public schools and played on a championship little league baseball team. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also loved music and was the president of the Topeka Beatles Fan Club. Cars and Hot Rodding were a lifelong passion for Tim which led to working on a pit crew and dirt track racing.
In 1970 the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where he graduated from Manzano High School. After high school he worked for the family printing business for many years. Tim returned to Topeka in 1984 and continued in the local printing industry. Upon returning to Topeka, Tim and brother, Dan were heavily involved in the Topeka softball leagues and were founding members of the first over 30 baseball leagues started by Lee Dodson. In later years, Tim rekindled his love of painting and art. Model making and painting of his models once earned Tim third place at the New Mexico State Fair. Tim was also a lifelong animal lover. Throughout his life, his family and friends were the most important aspects to him.
Tim is survived by his father, Arlan and brother, Dan and his wife Debbie and their son, Christopher of Topeka, brother, Brian and his wife, Jessica of Albuquerque; and numerous cousins.
Tim was cremated. A gathering to celebrate and remember Tim's life will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka. Words of comfort will be offered at 3:30 p.m.
