Timothy Lynn Drayer, 56, of Topeka, formerly of Overland Park, KS passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
He was born July 9, 1952 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Donald Warren and Vada V. (Volkening) Drayer. Tim resided in a variety of mental health facilities throughout Eastern Kansas and was actually able to live independently for a few years.
Tim was very involved in religious activities and attended church regularly. He also had a great appreciation of musical theater and performed in a variety of musical productions. He enjoyed playing the piano, singing and listening to music. He was always eager to travel, especially enjoying his trip to Bermuda.
Survivors include his mother of Topeka; his brothers, Kirby Dean Drayer and his wife, Charlotte of Palatine, IL and Darryl Don Drayer of Albuquerque, NM; three nephews, a niece; and a grand-niece. He was preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law, Donna.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the First Congregational U.C.C., 1701 SW Collins, Topeka. Graveside inurnment will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wells Creek Cemetery, Wabaunsee County. Memorial contributions may be made to a Mental Health charity of the donor's choice. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
