Timothy "Tim" Michael Smith, 48, Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Born June 3, 1966, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Michael "Mickey" Smith and Sharon (Crawford) Smith, who survive him. Tim is also survived by his wife Lisa; son Trenton; daughter Mya step-son and step-daughter Kyle and Kelsey Hackett, brother Nathan Smith; niece, Alexis Smith; and nephew, Dalton Smith; and a great amount of family and friends.
Tim worked as a Senior Contact Representative with the Department of Veteran's Affairs under the Health Resource Center for 11 years, retiring in January, 2014.
Tim will lie in-state and a visitation with the family will be at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road on Friday, January 2, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at University United Methodist Church, 17th & College in Topeka, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Burial will follow at the Ozawkie cemetery.
