Timothy D. Vail passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St.Francis hospital after suffering from a cardiac arrest on Sunday.
Born September 30th, 1958 he prided himself in being a jack of all trades and his wide array of career paths easily supported such a title. Often at the embarrassment of his daughters, Tim was the kind of man who easily talked to everyone he saw. He had been known to hold up the line at the grocery store while he finished up his chat with the clerk and to run into someone he recognized during any outing in town. The outdoors always played an important part in his life from hunting, camping, and fishing to later in his life spending afternoons on the porch outside with his grandson. Over the years he enjoyed making jewelry out of glass lamp work beads he made in his home and dabbled in other crafts such as metal cutting, word burning, and various other things throughout the years.
He brought laughter everywhere he went and always had a chair at his table for somebody extra to stop by at dinner time. His neighbors have told us they'll miss the year-round smells of his grilling and the local birds will miss his bird feeders, which he always kept full. He really was the best Papa Bear his girls could have asked for.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Vail; his children, Misty & Megan Vail; his parents, Darrell & Beverly Vail; his siblings Teresa Vail & Tammy Hales; and his favorite little boy, his grandson, Jackson Pyles.
Services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Dove Cremation and Funeral Service. We will begin receiving friends and family at 5pm and the service will start at 6pm. Information on a memorial fund will be available at the service.
The family encourages friends and family to leave memories or stories about Tim to be read by his daughter Megan during the service in celebration of his life.
