Timothy William Wendt, 53, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 3rd, 2011 at Stormont Vail Regional Health Center after a trying battle with esophageal cancer. He was born in Wellington, Ohio to Ralph Fredrick Wendt and Virginia Ruth Smith Wendt on December 30, 1957. Tim moved with his family to Topeka at a young age and remained there for his entire life. He was one of four brothers, two of whom still survive, Daniel Wendt (Topeka) and Richard Wendt (Salina). He was preceded by his brother, Michael Wendt.
Tim graduated Topeka West High School in 1975 and went on to be a machinist at Seymour Foods. Later in life, as Tim's true passion was helping others, he returned to college at Washburn University and earned his drug and alcohol counseling credentials. He then worked for Valeo Behavioral Health Care at Stepping Stones in North Topeka. Tim thoroughly enjoyed and spent some of the best times of his life fishing, camping and hunting with his family and friends. Tim was many things in his life, but one of the most important roles he played was being a great father to his children. Tim is survived by his two daughters, Angela Lynn Street (Arkansas) and Jessica Leigh Wendt (Topeka), his two sons, Hayes ORyan Wendt (Topeka) and Gareth William Fredrick Wendt (Topeka) and his grandson Jeremy Nelson William Wendt (Topeka). Tim is also survived by his soul-mate, Tracy Wendt, and her four daughters, Channing Rae Grace Allen, Zerah Shae Ann Allen, Britain Makae Elizabeth Allen, and Destrie Mae Augusta Allen. Tim was loved beyond words and cannot be replaced, nor will he be forgotten. His memory will live on through his family and the lives and hearts of countless others he touched. A private service for family and friends will be held Sunday, November 6th, 2011. Memorial and educational contributions (for his two sons) can be made to Kayla at Silver Lake Bank in North Topeka.
