Tommie L. Wells, 93, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born December 7, 1930 in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Morgan and Mammie (Ford) Fannin.

Tommie graduated from Topeka High School. She was employed as a Nurse's Aide by Stormont-Vail Hospital before retiring. She was a member of New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Tommie married Lillian Wells. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Michael K. Wells (Nancy Wells), Gary R. Wells and Dana K. Wells, three daughters, Lillian F. Chamberlain (Level Chamberlin), LaSandra L. Brown and Deborah Horwitz (David Horwitz) and two grandchildren, Kristopher Wells and Richard “Rick” Wells.

Survivors include two children, Paula A. Smith of Topeka, Verronda K. Wells of Topeka, 16 grandchildren, Trevor, Level and Brad Chamberlin, Terry Smith Jr, Darrick Wells, Kendra Whayne, NaKeith and Kandis Wells, Joshua and Lauren Horwitz, Shonda and Teirra Brown, Adriene Gore, and Brett Wells. 36 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
