Tully A. Straight, Jr.
Tully A. Straight, Jr., 88, of Topeka, Kansas died Sunday, January 25, 2004, at Midland Hospice House.
Mr. Straight had lived in Wichita for 62 years before moving to Topeka in October of 2002. He worked as a supervisor and plant manager for Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita where he helped to invent and design the aircraft down-lift, which later obtained a patent. He retired in July of 1980 after 38 years of service.
Mr. Straight was also a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wichita.
He was born December 9, 1915 in Wayne, Nebraska, the son of Tully A. and Hattie May Young Straight, Sr. He married Evelyn R. Harder on March 4, 1941 in Wayne. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2003 after 62 years of marriage.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Judith and Richard Price;
Granddaughter and her husband, Cherie and Fred Smith;
Grandson and his wife, Bryan and Tamra Price;
Great-Grandchildren, Bryanna Smith, Tyler Price and Madison Price all of Topeka.
Two Brothers, Wayne Straight, Wichita, Kansas and Lloyd Straight, Wayne, Nebraska;
Two Sisters, Verna Mae Creamer and Virginia Dranselka, both of Wayne, Nebraska.
Services will be held at First Lutheran Church, January 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, KS, Friday, January 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Straight will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel on Wednesday after 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice House, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606.
