Valerie Mccoy

Valerie P. McCoy, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born on January 7, 1930 in Grundy Co., MO, the daughter of Paul B. and Juanita Kaufman Bryant. She had resided in Topeka since 1976. She owned and operated a home day care. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Missouri State PTA. Valerie married Donald W. McCoy on September 22, 1955 in Jefferson Parish, LA. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1998. Survivors include three sons, Harold E. (Monica) Huff of Ashland, MO, Charles L. (Mary) McCoy of Dallas TX, Will (Caroline) McCoy of Topeka, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one sister, Paralee Bolt of Independence, MO and one brother, Gary Bryant of Wichita, KS. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Valerie will lie in state from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
