Velda D. Stawicki, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
She was born January 1, 1920 in Lecompton, the daughter of Arthur and Elnora Morgan Dreyer. She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Clark's Business School and the University of Kansas. Velda was employed by Morrell Packing Co. from 1943-1951. She then went to work for Seymour Foods and later retired from the Gulf Oil Company. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, the Lake Shawnee Ladies Golf Association and the Kansas Women's Golf Association.
Velda married Edmund Stawicki on February 15, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her death on November 4, 1997.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 in St. Mary's Chapel at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Inurnment will take place in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW 8th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603 or to KTWU, 1700 SW College, Topeka, KS 66621.
