Velma E. Jackson, 94, Topeka, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 at Aldersgate Village, Topeka.
She was born Jan. 26, 1913 in Goff, KS, the daughter of Grover C. and Estella M. Barnes Titman. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1930. Mrs. Jackson lived in Nemaha Co., KS for 7 years, in Topeka for 21 years and in Little Rock, AR from 1938 until coming back to Topeka in 1984.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of West Side Christian Church, Topeka, and a Rebekah Lodge in Little Rock.
She married Alfred T. Jackson on June 27, 1938 in Benton, AR. He died July 27, 1967.
Survivors include her sister, Lola Davis of Topeka, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Berenice Mayer and Mary Fleischer, and a brother, John Titman.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
Mrs. Jackson will lie in state from noon to 4:00 pm today at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
