Velma Christina Ramsey, 82, Topeka, passed away Mar. 14, 2012. She was born May 18, 1929 at Hiawatha, West Virginia to Oswald and Claudia B. (Holston) Karnes. She married Avery K. Ramsey on Jan. 31, 1948 at Pineville, West Virginia. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1974. Velma moved to Topeka in 1963 and was employed by Jostens as an inspector.
Velma is survived by her daughters, Delma Darlene Glenn, Houston, TX, Pattie S. Boone (Jim), Auburn, KS, Kena M. Johnson (Bruce), Maple Hill, KS, Cheryl L. Marlow, Laurel, MT and Tina D. Ray (Robert), Topeka; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A private family service will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. Cremation will follow.
