Venita A. Moreland

Venita A. Moreland, 72, of Berryton, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at her home. She was born on January 26, 1937 in Topeka, the daughter of Vern C. and Freda E. Black Tutt.
She graduated from Topeka High School before moving to the Berryton community. Venita was employed by the city water department and later was employed by U.S.D. 450 in food preparation before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed volunteering for the Berryton United Methodist Church. Venita married Harold R. "Ray" Moreland on January 23, 1959 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1999. Survivors include one brother, Donald E. Tutt and one sister, Patricia A. Mick, both of Topeka and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Venita will lie in state after Noon Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given the Berryton United Methodist Church, 7010 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, KS 66409.
