Vera Cota-Clark

Vera I. Cota-Clark, also known as Jean Cota-Clark, 83, of Topeka, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011.

She was born June 17, 1928 in Valparaiso, Indiana, to William George and Nannie (Jenkins) Blevins. She attended Valparaiso Schools up to the 8th grade and started working at the age of 16 at Farmer's Restaurant.

She married Cameron D. Farrier at age 21 in Valparaiso and moved to Van Wert, Ohio. They later moved to Topeka in the 1960's and they later divorced. She worked at Pink Elephant until time of conversion in 1967 and was ordained in October of 1969.

Vera married John D. Cota. He was employed at Santa Fe Railroad and retired at age 62. He started evangelizing with Jean and stayed on the field until time of his death in January, 1997. She mainly preached on the Indian Reservations around the United States, clothing and feeding those in need along with the word of God. Her main desire was to see souls saved and living the gospel. Many good times were spent around her family table singing and playing gospel music.

After the death of John Cota, 9 years later, she married Albert Clark and was still going strong in the ministry, holding revivals at various churches throughout the U.S. He preceded her in death in July of 2011.

She is survived by 5 children, Kathy Abrams, Topeka, Leisa Farrier, Topeka, Tom (Deena) Farrier, Moore, OK and Tina Johnson, Topeka; 8 step-children, Janet Cota, Augusta, KS, Carol Cox, Arkansas, John (Beth) Cota, Olathe, Rosemary Dickerson, Missouri, Scott , Billy, Rick and Jerry Clark all of Arizona; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Cameron Farrier; sisters, Code, Mary, Sue, Pauline "Dickie", and brothers, George, Walter and Butch.

A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Dove Cremation and Funeral Service, 4020SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS. Cremation will follow the ceremony.
