Vera M. Vaughn, 97, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 in Topeka. She was born August 3, 1921 in Alta Vista, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Lila Mae (Simmons) Boettcher.
Vera graduated from Alta Vista High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Junction City.
Vera married Donald Morfitt on October 30, 1939 in Council Grove, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one daughter; Debra Simms.
Survivors include their children; Dorothy Brown of Topeka, Carolyn Smith of Topeka, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Graveside committal services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Junction City, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Interim Hospice of Topeka, 1251 SW Arrowhead Rd., #103, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
