Verna M. "Mai" Hannagan, 76, of Eskridge, Kansas, passed away Nov. 30, 2013. She was born on Sept. 30, 1937 at Kansas City, Kansas to Allen and Myra M. (Sechler) Dedrick. She graduated from Stanley Rural High School. Verna married Hugh A. Hannagan on March 4, 1956. They divorced after 46 years of marriage.
Mai was a longtime antique dealer and original owner of Antique Plaza of Topeka. She was the president of the Valley Station Kentucky Jaycettes, vice-president of the Fayetteville, NC Jaycettes, an honorary lifetime membership of the National PTA was received for her volunteer work in USD 501. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Above all else, Mai cherished her family and was a loving wife and mother.
Mai is survived by her daughters, Shirla (Rich) Bowers and Erin (Darrell) Rush; her son, Shawn (Kathy) Hannagan; grandchildren, Hannah Rush and Conner Rush; step-grandchildren, Mike Rush and Nick Bowers; step-great-grandchild Jayson Rush; step-mother, Irene Dedrick; and her siblings, Virgil (Joni) Dedrick, Judy Alexander, Billie Hollins, Kay Koontz, and Al Dedrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Bill Beebe, and sisters, Dian Fogarty and Jayne Beebe.
