Viki Lynn Bombardier, 58, Scranton, formerly of Topeka, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006 at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 13, 1948 in Topeka, the daughter of Lloyd and Dona Owens Gardner. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966.
Viki worked for Stormont-Vail and for Drs Davis, Hamilton, and Puderbaugh as a phlebotomist for many years before moving to Overbrook. She had worked at Osage Autoworks for the last 12 years. She was an avid KU basketball fan.
She married Thomas J. Bombardier on April 1, 1978 in Minneapolis, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Christi Steward; a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Lynn Wilson; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lesa Bombardier; five grandchildren, Amber Steward, Elizabeth Steward, Ashley Wilson, Cody Bombardier, and Shea Bombardier; her mother, Dona Gardner; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Jim McDonald; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Rayleen Gardner; eight nieces and nephews, and fifteen great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Highland Park United Methodist Church with interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Viki will lie in state after noon today at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m.
