Vincent "Vic" Lee Long, 68, of Topeka, Kansas passed away March 30, 2015 at home with his wife. He was born on February 24, 1947 to Lewis and Laverna (Myers) Long at Topeka, Kansas. He attended Carbondale High School and completed his GED after serving his country with the US Army in Vietnam.
Vic married Luann Y. Opitz on October 9, 1986 at Lawrence, Kansas. He was a manager at the Coors Warehouse and a grocery store. He was a member of the VFW and the Elks. Vic enjoyed his hobbies of going to garage sales and flea markets, collecting Army and race car memorabilia, and enjoyed car racing.
He is survived by his wife, Luann Y. Long; his son Justin V. Long (Gina) of Gardner, KS; and 2 grandchildren: Jakob J. Long and Kaylie M. Long. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Long and his parents.
A memorial service will be held on April 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Penwell Gabel Cemetery.
