Vinnie Lena Bulmer

Vinnie Lena Bulmer, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on September 5, 1921 in Wagner, OK, the daughter of James F. and Minnie L. Edwards Stockwell. She resided in Topeka since 1940. She was the head cook for Highland Villa Nursing Home. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church, the American War Dad Auxillary, the U.S. Army Mothers, Aerie No. 58 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary, American Legion Post No. 400 Auxillary, Philip Billard Post No. 1650, V.F.W. Auxillary and volunteered at the Colmery O'Neil VA Medical Center. Vinnie married Glenn D. Bulmer on June 10, 1950 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1984. Survivors include one son, Glenn Leroy Bulmer of Tecumseh, one daughter, Martha L. Taylor of Topeka, one step-daughter, Judy Dymond of Weatherford, TX, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four sisters, Irene Douglas, Sadie Biggart and Della Marlow of Topeka, Lillie Lazor of Pittsburgh, PA, and two brothers, George Stockwell of Grantville and Hiram Stockwell of Topeka. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at East Side Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Vinnie will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to East Side Baptist Church, 4425 S.E. 29th St., Topeka, KS 66605 or the American Diabetes Association, 837 S.
