Viola Mae Grose, 98, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018.
She was born November 30, 1919, in Mott, North Dakota, the daughter of Marion and Hulda (Arvidson) Swindler. She was a graduate of Athol High School, Athol, Idaho and attended Spokane Business University, Spokane, WA.
Viola was employed by Marin General Hospital, San Rafael, California.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Topeka.
Viola married Norman Grose on September 27, 1941 in Spokane, WA. He preceded her in death on 2008. Survivors include three children, a daughter, Cheryl (Neil) McKay, Topeka, Jeanne Shaw, Topeka and Lisa (Mikel) Brownie, West Jordan, UT; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Grose; and nine siblings.
Viola enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, baking and traveling.
Honoring Viola's request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th, Topeka. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
