Viola Mae King, 88, passed away Sat., Nov. 1, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Feb. 27, 1920 in Lockwood, MO to Joseph and Grace Owens. She married Hollis J. King on Oct. 4, 1942 in St. Genevieve, MO.
Survivors include two children, Lonnie Owens and wife Beverly of Washington, IL and Pat McCarthy and husband Louis of Topeka; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in Jan. 1999 and a grandson, Michael Owens in 1996.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 6 at First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 5 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel.
