Violet M. Kirschbaum, 86, Topeka, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at Plaza West Care Center.
She was born March 29, 1921 in Burlingame, the daughter of Allen and Lena Grinage Boucher. She was raised in Burlingame, and later lived in Wichita, where she worked for Beech Aircraft. After coming to Topeka, she worked for the State of Kansas in the Human Resources department before retiring.
Mrs. Kirschbaum was a long time member of First Baptist Church.
She married Richard Kirschbaum on Oct. 24, 1943. He died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ross in 2000, and by a brother and three sisters.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Schone of Topeka, Jenni Schone of Kansas City, KS, Christina Salyer of Topeka, and Jeff (Shamay) Salyer of Topeka, her twin sister, Viola Stauffer of Madison, KS, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirschbaum will lie in state from 9 am to 4 pm Monday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
