Virgil E. Davison

Virgil E. Davison, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on December 5, 1918 in Rawlins Co., the son of Ellis A. and Hulda L. Swanson Davison. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He came to Topeka in 1956. He retired from U.S.D. 501 in 1983 where he was employed for 23 years. He was a member of the Baptist church and Capital Post No. 1 of the American Legion. He married Edith F. Morford on July 6, 1942 in Manhattan. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry V. Davison and wife, Linda of Clinton, MO, Evan C. Davison and Peggy of Burdick, KS., two daughters, Janet E. Nordgren and husband Chris of Sioux Falls, SD, Judi E. Tenpenny of Powell, TX, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Virgil will lie in state after Noon Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 120 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, Ks. 66606.
