Virgil Lee Hogarth, born February 17, 1929 went to be with his heavenly father on March 13, 2014.
Virgil was a beloved father, husband, friend and pastor. Born in Lamar, Colorado Virgil spent his childhood in the Colorado plains and Kennewick, WA. Virgil attended college in Colorado Springs, where he met and married Ruth (Berkgren). Virgil and Ruth pastored churches in Idaho, Washington, California and Kansas until Ruth's passing in 1985.
Virgil married Eleanor Fay (Clark) in May 1990 and pastored churches in Oklahoma and Kansas. Virgil lived in Topeka, Kansas since his retirement from the Wesleyan Church and was a member of Grace Point Church.
Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister and his wife Ruth.
Virgil is survived by his loving and devoted wife Fay, his brother Elmer and sister Flora, son Bruce, daughter Cynthia, daughter-in-law Teresa, four grandsons, Kyle (Elisabeth), Braden, Zachary, and Ryan.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Point Church, 5400 SW Huntoon Topeka, KS on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:30AM. A celebration gathering will be held on Sunday, March 16 from 5:30-7:30PM at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Grace Hospice or Aldersgate Village.
