Virginia Lynn Langley

March 12, 1925 — October 1, 2022

Virginia Lynn Langley, 97, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born March 12, 1925 in Topeka the daughter of Howard W. and Edith (Bundy) Lynn. She was born at her grand-parent's home. Baby Virginia and her mother returned to the family farm when she was just a few days old to join her father and six other siblings. She remained on the home place until 2014 when she and her husband, Earl moved to Topeka. She was a lifelong Kansan.

Virginia was a homemaker. She was passionate, loyal, generous and a faith filled woman. She was an avid seamstress and quilter who had a special gift for listening, forgiving and accepting everyone. Virginia always made a person feel special and she loved to laugh. She treasured her family and friends. She was a member of the Berryton Baptist Church.

Over the years, Virginia not only raised her family, but she loved and cared for many babies and children. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren. She was hands on in raising and caring for each of them.

Virginia married Earl Robert Langley on September 28, 1947 in Topeka. They resided on their farm in Berryton for 66 years. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2017. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen Marie Langley, one son, David Lynn Langley, and her son-in-law, John Black.

Survivors include children, Earlene Black, Carl (Tina) Langley, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Virginia will be missed by all. She has gone to be with the Lord, her husband, two children and all of her other family that have waited for her. This gives us great peace. Bless you Mother, we love you with all of our heart.

A Celebration of Virginia's Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Berryton Baptist Church, 6741 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, Kansas. Private inurnment will take place in Lynn Creek Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Berryton Baptist Church, 6741 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, Kansas 66409 or to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
