Virgle F. Ready, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at a Holton, Kansas care facility. He was born December 17, 1933 in Topeka, the son of Robert and Mina (Guffey) Ready.
Virgle graduated from Topeka High School. He was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was employed by Tawsley Grocery Store, Engroff's Grocery Store and C&W Market where he served as a Produce Manager.
Virgle married Janice Lorraine Binney on August 13, 1967 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Chris Ready, Terry Downing of Topeka and Michael (Kelly) Ready of Lake Wales, Florida, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and his siblings, David Ready, Rosalie Phillips and Larry Ready.
Virgle was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Ready on September 11, 2013.
The family would like to thank Kansas Palliative and Hospice Care Kansas for their care during this difficult time.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Indiana Avenue Church of Christ, 3510 SE Indiana Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family.
