Walter L. Lister, 65, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 at a Kansas City, Kansas hospital. He was born October 6, 1954 in Topeka, the son of Lloyd and Naomi (Truman) Lister.
Walter attended Topeka High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Copper Craft. He enjoyed fishing, baseball and attending his grandchildren's activities.
Walter married Vicki L. Thurman on May 21, 1977 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, Daniel Kwiatkowski, Nichole Cooper, Shawna Shutt, six grandchildren, Robbie, Elliott, Eadrian, Danika, Harmony, Aspen and his siblings, Judy, Mary, Linda, Wanda and Ronnie.
Walter was preceded in death by his brother, Skip Lister.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Baptist Church, 1110 N.E. Michigan Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66616.
