Walter L. "Walt" Williams, 85, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Gomer and Lena (Monpigney) Williams.
Mr. Williams was a Seaman in the U.S. Navy. He was the shop foreman for Vic Yarrington Oldsmobile for 24 years before retiring.
He was married to Blanche Wilson who preceded him in death. He later married Juanita Kibby who also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Charlotte Reeves, Kinsman, OH and Elvira Owen, Citrus Springs, FL; 1 step-daughter, Mary and Tom Burger, Midland, TX; 4 step-sons, Charles and Doris Wilson, Las Vegas; Robert and Sandra Kibby, Topeka; James and Barbara Kibby; Bill Stone, and a niece, Beverley VanNoy, in addition to all their children; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at Resthaven Cemetery, Sperry, Oklahoma. Mr. Williams will lie in-state from 12 Noon, Friday, Sept. 21st where the family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday, Sept. 24th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 4020 SW 6th St., Topeka.
