Wanda C. Emerson, 74, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. She was born September 17, 1948 in Topeka, the daughter of H. B. and Dorcylene (Adams) Wheeler.
Wanda graduated from Topeka High School. She was employed by the IRS in Illinois for over 30 years before retiring. She returned to Topeka 5 years ago. She was a member of St. Mark's AME Church in Topeka.
Survivors include children; Jo Emerson of Topeka, Darrian Emerson of Topeka, Gwendolyn Emerson of Illinois, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and her siblings; Alice, Jay, Aaron and Jan.
Wanda was preceded in death by one grandson, Davonn Emerson and her two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Wanda's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
