Wanda Marie Von Soosten

Wanda Marie von Soosten, 77, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 at her home. She was born May 27, 1933 at Walnut, Kansas the daughter of Irwin and Emma Elizabeth Rhudy Bolze.

Wanda was a graduate of Topeka High School. She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at Topeka Lutheran School for 24 years. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Wanda married Cletus von Soosten April 5, 1953. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband Cletus, 6 children, Kathleen (Lars) Fischer, Richard von Soosten, Douglas (Patricia) von Soosten, Annette (Minot) Davis, Rhonda Howard, and Corey (Kim) von Soosten; her brother, Merlin Bolze; her sister, Kathleen Taylor; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother Duane Bolze.

Wanda will lie in state after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 17 at Hope Lutheran Church followed by burial at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
