Wanda McDonald passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025. She was 92 years old. Wanda was a resident of Oakley Place Adult Care in Topeka when she passed away.
Wanda Darlene Dick was born on a farm near Allen, KS, on September 16, 1932, to Elmer Ray Dick and Florence Irene (Bartram) Dick. She was the fourth of six children. Wanda graduated from Admire High School in 1949 and took a job at the Capper Foundation in Topeka. She married Fred McDonald in 1951. The couple lived in Topeka until they moved to Osage City in 1960, where they lived until Fred’s death in 1999.
Wanda was well-known in Osage City during this time, first as a secretary in the Farm Bureau Insurance office and then in the Osage City Clerk’s office.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; three brothers, Bob, Jessie, and Delbert; and a sister, LeMeryl.
Wanda is survived by two sons, Kevin (Tammy) and Kerry (Pam), both of Topeka; a sister, Debbie Dick, of Topeka; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at a later date.
