Wanda Darlene Prosser

Wanda Darlene Prosser, 87, of Topeka, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born December 23, 1937, in Augusta, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin and Myrtle (Williams) Mullin. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1955.

Wanda married Harold B. Prosser on June 11, 1956 in Augusta KS, they were married for 68 years. Harold survives. Other survivors include 3 sons and 5 daughters, Danny (Janet) Prosser, Carla Cross, Connie Prosser, Mark (Lisa) Prosser, Susan Prosser, Diana (Jeff) Kramer, Larry (Dawna) Prosser and Marianne (Peter) Nauta, 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and sister, Anita Higgins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Sonny Mullin and Ronnie Mullin.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday March 19, 2025 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St, Topeka, KS 66614. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday March 22, 2025 at Saint James Catholic Church, 1012 E Belmont Ave, Augusta, KS 67010. Interment of the cremated remains will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, Kansas.

It’s incredibly difficult to sum up the impact and difference Wanda had on her family and community. Her greatest joy was the love of her Husband and the gift of being a mother and grandmother.

Wanda had a positive influence on each person she interacted with.

Wanda described herself as a domestic engineer. She made the best cobblers, chicken and noodle soup, hamburger gravy and potatoes.

Wanda loved to sew, crochet and quilt. Wanda made quilts and crocheted items for everyone she loved. While reminiscing recently, it was said that her family has enough blankets that Wanda made to keep 10 generations warm.

Wanda loved to get together with family and friends to have coffee. The coffee of course had to have lots and lots of creamer! In Augusta KS, Wanda liked to have coffee with her church Alter Society lady friends. In Ferndale WA, Wanda had coffee friends from the church that were lovingly named the “fallen angels” because they were known to go to casinos on occasion.

Wanda was passionate about her Catholic Faith. Wanda was a current member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka, KS since 2023. Wanda was an active member in Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Ferndale, WA and Saint James Catholic Church in Augusta, KS while she lived in those communities.

Wanda was a loving mother. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement.
