Warren J. Whinery, 58, of Hartford, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020.

Warren was born July 20, 1961, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Francis and Emma (Lambeth) Whinery.

Warren served in the United States Navy for four years. He held a few different jobs throughout his life. The most recent was as a custodian for the Lyon County Courthouse in Emporia, Kansas.

Survivors include his sisters, Francine Burke, Joyce Whinery, and Eleanor Carley all of Burlington, KS and Edna McGill of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Francis Whinery, Jr. and his sister, Connie M. Whinery.

Warren enjoyed music. He especially took pride in recording and writing his own songs. Warren had a love for his nine dogs but his most beloved was Sarah.

Honoring Warren's request, cremation is planned. The family will be conducting their own memorial ceremony at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604.
