Waunita "Cookie" DeShazer, 69, Berryton, passed away on October 30, 2013 at her home. She was born on April 7, 1944 in Topeka to Robert Koch and Lucile (Proctor) Beam.
Waunita was a group leader at Josten's retiring after 47 years of service.
On December 14, 1960, she married Larry DeShazer, he survives. Also surviving are her children, Clark DeShazer, Wendell DeShazer and Rhonda DeShazer; brother, Rob Koch; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Jermaine, Anterio and Tristen and six great-grandchildren, Bishop, Cadan, Jaylene, Ethan, Lilliana and Aaliyah. Waunita was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 5 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow at Lynn Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66604.
