Waunita Jean McClain Koehn, 82, of Topeka, was escorted into the presence of our Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2015. She was born August 21, 1932, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of George and Dorothy McClain.
Waunita was a 1951 graduate of Highland Park High School and attended Stewart Beauty Academy. She retired from Goodyear and later worked for the Shawnee County Health Department. Waunita was a member of Topeka First Assembly of God.
On November 29, 1991, in Topeka, she married Arthur Koehn. He survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Renee Chamberlain, Jane Zimmerman, and Lona Decker; son, William Grant Stewart; two step-children, M. Dale Koehn and Candace Hause; brother, Ronald McClain; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jimmy McClain.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Topeka First Assembly of God, 500 SW 27th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66611, with the Pastor Hal Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Grantville Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka First Assembly of God.
