Wayne A. Chadwick, 75, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on September 24, 1932 near Vermillion, KS, the son of Alvan and Amy Clear Chadwick. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1950 and attended Kansas State University. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Wayne had resided in Topeka since 1988. He was a farmer and was also employed by Horizon Systems in Lawrence. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 400 and a life-time member of Philip Billard Post No. 1650, V.F.W. Wayne married Lucille Mars in 1960. They were divorced. He married Edith A. Jensen on October 11, 1988 in Manhattan, KS. She survives. Other survivors include two step-sons, David Brunkow of Centralia, Terry Jensen of Oklahoma, one step-daughter, Elaine Lewis of Topeka and one brother, Elton Ray Chadwick of Centralia. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home in Centralia. Inurnment will follow in Vermillion Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is in charge of Topeka arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Wayne A.
