Wayne H. "Lou" Lewis, 65, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born November 2, 1950 in Minden, Louisiana, the son of Herman and Ruby (Thrift) Lewis.
Lou was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He moved to Topeka in the early 1970's. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad Company from in 1974 until retiring in 2013.
Lou married Edna "Liz" Carrington in 1971 in Topeka. They later divorced. Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Renee Lewis of Topeka, two grandchildren, Tiauna N. Lewis and Shapiro D. Doss Jr., great-granddaughter, A'Rya Mae Renee Lewis, step-children, Joseph and Michael Carrington, Arthur Burns and Brigette Arnold, several step-grandchildren, his siblings, Fulton "Skeet" Lewis and Deborah Lewis, both of Minden, Louisiana and several special nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ruby Lewis, his brother, Bruce Lewis and his special friend, Linda Ludwig.
As per Wayne's wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services and inurnment will take place at a later date.
