Wendell D. Cazier, 82, Topeka, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016.
Wendell was born August 20, 1933 in Topeka, the son of Joseph Russell and Ruth (Dickson) Cazier. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School and California State University with a degree in accounting and business administration.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.
He was employed with Hane Brother's Oil Company, owned a Union Oil Company service station, and worked for the Department of Defense in Los Angeles, retiring in 1995. He moved to Gardnerville, NV where he operated a landscaping business, and later moved back to Topeka where he worked for Driveline.
He was a member of Topeka Bible Church.
Wendell married Davonia Zirschky and they divorced in 1964. He married Carolyn Richardson and they later divorced. He married Nancy Perez and she passed away in 1995. Survivors include children, Vonnie Owens, Barbara Cazier, Debbie Swartz, Russell Cazier, Gregory Cazier, Ruth Allen; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Folkers; sister-in-law, Betty Cazier; and brother-in-law, Harold Bearce. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie Bearce; and brother, Byron Cazier.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
