Wendy Moore, 73, of Topeka, died May 26, 2016 with her daughter by her side. She was born Oct. 15, 1942 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Wendy's favorite childhood memories were from Conneaut Lake.
In 1965, Wendy moved to Topeka. She obtained her Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Wendy's career was dedicated to helping children, families and pregnant teenagers, working at Topeka State Hospital, Family Services & Guidance Center and the Maternal & Infant Care clinic with Shawnee County. She particularly enjoyed art therapy and working with kids.
On March 27, 1977, she married Harry Moore. They had two children, Katie and Andrew.
For many years, Wendy was a Stampin' Up demonstrator - she spent many hours in her studio making cards and crafting. She and her children also enjoyed traveling together. Wendy loved the beauty and peacefulness of Iceland and visited three times. She was fiercely supportive of her kids' education, careers and adventures. She also loved horses and cats, especially her cat, KoKo.
Wendy spent time volunteering at Temple Beth Sholom, Mulvane Art Museum, Quinton Heights Elementary School, Topeka Correctional Facility and VIDA Ministries. For more than three years; Wendy remained spirited as she fought against ALS.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Mildred Badner, father-in-law, Robert Wingard and husband, Harry.
She is survived by her children, Katie and Andrew Moore; KoKo; cousins, Craig Mindell, Ellen Price-Maloy and Hank Badner; and innumerable friends from work, crafting and temple.
Katie and Andrew would like to thank Wendy's friends for their continued support, Kay Kent and caregiver, Tyya Russell.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19th at Temple Beth Sholom, 4200 SW Munson Ave., in Topeka.
