William Morris Burton, 81, went to his heavenly home on April 27, 2017 after a long illness. Bill was born July 16, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to William Ray and Margaret J. (Hawks) Burton. He graduated from Topeka High in 1953 and served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957.
He married the love of his life, Norma Jean Buzek on November 2, 1957 in Lincoln, NE. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November. He retired from Santa Fe machine shops after 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Jean Hoffsett.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; his daughters: Denise (Mark) Morrow of Towanda, KS, Kim (Todd) Hillrichs of Grand Prairie, TX and Lynne (Frank) Hargraves of Wakarusa, KS; six grandchildren: Austin (LaTavia) Hillrichs, Ashley Ayers, Zachary Ayers, Heath Hillrichs, Macey Hillrichs and Jana (Jimmie) Reed; six great-grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.
Bill loved working on cars and art work all of his life but, his biggest love was for his family. Bill cherished time with his family. He lived his life as a great example of his love for Jesus. He was a member of Topeka Bible Church.
A memorial service will be held at Topeka Bible Church, 11th & Mulvane on Saturday, May 6th at 11:00AM with visitation at 10:30AM. Interment with military honors will be at Penwell Gabel Cemetery.
