William Dale Swiger, Sr.

William Dale "Bill" Swiger, Sr., 71, of Wamego, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was born October 3, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Virginia Swiger. He was raised in Columbus, Ohio and served for 9 years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Following his service in the Army, Bill was employed as a Rubber Worker at the Goodyear Plant in Topeka. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio.
Bill married Janice Wilburn on November 4, 1962 in Oklahoma and they were happily married for 53 years. She survives of the home.
Bill is also survived by his daughter, Debbie Walsh and husband Jeff; grandsons, Ryan Woudstra and T.J. Walsh; son, Bill Swiger, Jr. and wife Kathy; 2 grandsons, Billy and Brandon; 1 granddaughter, Nicole Clary and husband, Ryan; and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Swiger; grandmother, Dora Swiger; and grandparents, Walter and Elma Bilikam.
Bill loved fishing with his "Wildman", spending time with Jan in their garden, going to watch football and baseball games together, tinkering in his garage and watching "Gunsmoke".
Bill was cremated. Per his wishes, no services will be held.
